On the weekend of the 13th and 14th January 2024 Low Carbon Louth are organising free events to help make cycling accessible for everyone.
On Saturday 13th January we will be running two sessions:
“Learn to Ride”
This will be led by experienced cyclists to help anyone to start or restart cycling. This session is for all ages and will be delivered on a safe off road area at the Youth and Community Centre, Park Ave , Louth LN118BX. We have a range of bikes to borrow if required and a free gift for all participants!
“Fix your Bike”
This will be led by experienced cycle mechanics to carry out free basic bike repairs, safety checks and low level maintenance services. Your chance to have your bike fixed and get some good advice.
On Sunday 14th January the two sessions will be:
“Learn to Fix”
This will be led by an experienced bike mechanic and will help you complete practical tasks on your bike such as mending a puncture, adjusting gears and adjusting brakes. This will be a “hands on” workshop event so please dress appropriately, we will provide an apron and gloves if required. All participants will get a free puncture repair kit!
“Led ride”
A ride will be led by experienced cyclists and take you a short (30 minute) distance on the streets of Louth and surrounding countryside. The pace will be steady and social with lots of opportunities to stop and talk about the challenges of cycling locally how to overcome them safely and have fun! A free gift for every participant!.
